Emily Wilson

Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist with over a decade of experience. Emily is compassionate, warm, and client-centered. She is comfortable truly being with people while they illuminate their challenges and work towards a better understanding of themselves. Utilizing a variety of modalities in the counseling relationship, including Art Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emily is skilled at tailoring a therapeutic process that meets the needs of each individual client, family or group. Emily works with adolescents and adults facing issues ranging from depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment, social and relationship struggles, gender identity exploration, life transitions, and more all while maintaining a strengths-based lens. Emily graduated with a Master of Arts in transpersonal psychology and art therapy from Naropa University. She has worked in community mental health agencies, in community art studios, abroad, in children’s hospitals and in private practice. Prior to becoming an art therapist, Emily worked as an art teacher in preschool, elementary school and high school and as a corporate project manager. She loves working with adolescents, families and adults and with the healing power of art!
Life can be beautiful, challenging, confusing, exciting, and scary (and so much more!)- all at the same time. Finding the support of art and a therapeutic ear made all of the difference for Emily during many of her own messy transitions. Whatever you may be facing, therapy can be a supportive tool in working through and transforming challenges.
