Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Art Therapist
Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist with over a decade of experience. Emily is compassionate, warm, and client-centered. She is comfortable truly being with people while they illuminate their challenges and work towards a better understanding of themselves. She is also a self-proclaimed weird and awkward human, which often leads to more comfort for others to show up as their true selves. Utilizing a variety of modalities in the counseling relationship, including Art Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Ritual, Emily is skilled at tailoring a therapeutic process that meets the needs of each individual client, couple or group. Emily works with adolescents and adults facing issues ranging from depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment, social and relationship struggles, gender identity exploration, life transitions, and more all while maintaining a strengths-based lens. Emily’s practice is neurodiverse-affirming, gender-affirming, LGBTQIA+ friendly. Emily graduated with a Master of Arts in transpersonal psychology and art therapy from Naropa University. She has worked in community mental health agencies, in community art studios, abroad, in children’s hospitals and in private practice. Prior to becoming an art therapist, Emily worked as an art teacher in preschool, elementary school and high school and as a corporate project manager. She loves working with adolescents, families and adults and with the healing power of art!
Life can be beautiful, challenging, confusing, exciting, and scary (and so much more!)- all at the same time. Finding the support of art and a therapeutic ear made all of the difference for Emily during many of her own messy transitions. Whatever you may be facing, therapy can be a supportive tool in working through and transforming challenges. Finding a therapist that you ‘click with’ can be tough but when you find someone who can hold space for you, that can truly see you; it can be magickal.
I currently see client located in both Arizona (in person and teletherapy) and Colorado (teletherapy only). I look forward to hearing from you. I am happy to answer questions and provide any clarification that you may need.
